Enviro Spase is a program for storing and displaying site environmental data. This powerful combination of a GIS and relational database manager works with our Enviro Data and Enviro Stats programs to help you get the most out of your environmental data. The program allows you to import base maps in a variety of formats including .dxf and .dlg. You can display maps at any scale, from international to local. A full suite of coordinate projects and integrated digitizing capabilities round out the base-mapping part of the program. With Enviro Spase, you can import your chemical and other data, enter it by hand, or attach directly to an Enviro Data database using an ODBC connection to share the data.

Enviro Spase lets you display your data in the way that works best for you. You can have multiple maps and lists on screen at the same time, and they can be connected together so that when you click on a map or list, the other map or list scrolls to find the item you selected. There is a complete display system to manage the pens, symbols, fonts and colors used on your maps. You can display different data elements on different layers, and turn the layers on and off to show your data in the most useful way. You can choose what data goes on each map along with the scale for display and printing. You can add borders, symbols, annotations and title blocks to enhance your display. Then you can print or plot the maps and lists or save them to file for other programs to use.

Displaying your numeric data in its spatial context is the high point of Enviro Spase, which provides a wide variety of tools for looking at the data in many different, useful ways. Bubble maps, with user-defined cutoffs that can be saved by parameter and matrix, can be combined with user-configurable contours, to help you really understand the numbers. You can double-click on a point to bring up more information about it. Posting offsets, which can be saved in sets with names, overcome the age-old problem of overposting, allowing you to configure your map so that the most information is displayed in the least space. Once you set up your well selection sets and offset locations, you can run the same map again for the next sampling period to see the new data with a minimum of effort, saving time and money over manual methods.

Often seeing your data in context provides the information that turns out to be the key to interpretation. The capability of Enviro Spase to display an airphoto or satellite image behind your map adds a whole new set of possibilities for helping you understand your data and what it is telling you about conditions at the site. Often the analytical data is all the information that you have about subsurface conditions, and combining this information with present-day or historical information about surface usage helps bring an understanding of site processes that is difficult or impossible to obtain using less powerful tools.

Adding the time dimension can be critical in unraveling the complexities of contaminant location and migration. Enviro Spase lets you draw time-sequence graphs in a variety of ways, including right on the map tied to the stations, as shown, or in a rectangular array, which is a good way to generate and plot a large number of graphs at once. Each graph can display up to four constituents on up to two scales, and for one of the constituents you can calculate, save and display control chart limits based on different well populations (such as upgradient vs downgradient) and date ranges. Once you set the display up the first time, running it for the next sampling period is just a few mouse clicks. If you generate a lot of graphs, the graphing feature alone can easily justify buying and learning the software. 

Combining multiple parameters on one map can be very informative, and Stiff water quality diagrams are an excellent way to do this. These diagrams, which can be created in Enviro Spase with just a few mouse clicks, display the major ion chemistry (or any other parameters you wish) next to the wells, and make it easy to understand different water populations in the subsurface. With Enviro Spase you can select the constituents for display and the scale, color code the polygons based on the total dissolved solids, compare lab TDS to a calculated TDS, and perform an ion balance calculation. The software displays a complete report for each diagram that is hot-linked to the map.

Cross sections allow you to add the depth dimension to your display. From selecting the stations for each cross section to displaying the section locations on the map, Enviro Spase's cross sections, maps and lists are fully integrated. You can define a well style with multiple tracks and multiple traces for each track, and define which constituents go on the track and how they are drawn (bar graph, line graph, etc.). You can include a lithology track along with sample descriptions. The software will automatically add the water level and screened intervals. You can add your own text labels, lines and polygons, and save them with the cross section. Imagine how your understanding of your projects would increase if you could see all of this on the screen at once!

That's the beauty of Enviro Spase! You can really SEE your data, all on the screen at once, in a way that really helps you understand it. With added features like SQL data access, an included scripting language, an on-screen coordinate locator, and complete support for three coordinate systems at once (latitude-longitude, global Cartesian and site Cartesian), there's no limit to how this software can improve your productivity and understanding of your site.

Enviro Spase works with the Enviro Data environmental database and is compatible with the Enviro Stats statistical analysis program. The three programs together provide a powerful suite of tools to manage environmental data or each can work on its own to satisfy a specific need.
